SHARE NY 2011 Annual Year End Event New York, NY

New York, NY--- This event was an annual board member and business community outreach that welcomed over 150 guests on Wednesday November 30, 2011. Johnson Edman Advertising hosted the event with live bands in a beautifully catered environment at the lovely Thompson LES Hotel in lower Manhattan.

SHARE, (Safe, Healthy, Affordable and Reliable Energy), is a non-profit coalition of organizations committed to ensuring the continued supply of reliable, clean and affordable electricity for all New Yorkers. High electricity prices have placed an undue economic burden on New York families and businesses, while poor air quality has led to high asthma rates which place our most vulnerable at risk. SHARE, and its member organizations, are committed to working with local stakeholders in the New York metropolitan area to address these problems and provide all New Yorkers with the clean and affordable power they deserve.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRP) signed by President Obama presents a historic opportunity to strengthen New York’s economy in a way that ensures long-term, equitable economic development and environmental sustainability. If implemented correctly, this Act will create well paying, green-collar jobs, that allow workers to further develop their skills and thus advance their careers.

All new jobs must pay prevailing wages, provide healthy and safe work environments and prioritize contractors that offer family sustaining wages, benefits, and career opportunities. These measures will help to ensure the creation of a robust green collar workforce and establish contracting goals for the inclusion of Minority/Women Owned Businesses and disbursement of funding to minority communities.

Professor Frank Farely is a community leader that inspires other leaders to maximize their potential. As President of SHARE, Frank brings years of dedicated leadership and service in both the public and private sector to SHARE as a steadfast advocate for clean and affordable electricity for all New Yorkers.

Frank is committed to building powerful business and community partnerships to address issues that disproportionately affect low-income and minority populations.
