New York, NY -- Johnson Edman Advertising, Inc Opens its Doors at a New Location within the Bank of America US Trust building located on West 47th Street.

Johnson Edman new partnership with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is to help the agency gain traction in the community and support them with events such as planning and executing their grand opening reception on October 25, 2011. 

Our goal for the first quarter of 2012 is to plan and execute a series of events that followed our October 25th launch event. We are looking to jump start workshops, programs/outreach and gain traction for the in conjunction with foresting more relationships and referring more businesses to help the NYCMBC reach their goals.

Johnson Edman Advertising and it’s strategic services was established to bring a new blend or fusion, of traditional advertising and marketing communications services, into a single comprehensive unit, that better reflects the interests of today's consumer and makes better use of the vehicles by which they're targeted.

We carefully crafted our approach to ensure that at the end of the day, all aspects of the various marketing disciplines are synergistically paired with account services, account planning and creative departments. CUNY Advanced Science Research Center project at the City College of New York

New York, NY--- Through the MOU signed in October 2011 between the Manhattan Business Development Agency (MBDA) and Empire State Development Corporation, Johnson Edman continued to support the MBDA office with this landmark event on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Skanska hosted a premiere outreach event to connect certified M/WBE firms and prime contractors with contracting opportunities for the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center project at the Cultural Center at City College of New York. 


Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that $82 million in construction contracts will be available for New York Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) as part of the $373 million CUNY Advanced Science Research Center project. The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), which has set a goal of 22 percent M/WBE utilization for the project, providing tax-exempt financing for the CUNY project.



Lisa S. Coico, President, The City College of New York said, "The CUNY Advanced Science Research complex is being built on The City College campus and is destined to play an important role in Harlem's economic future. By consistently working to connect minority and women owned businesses to this project, Governor Cuomo and Skanska remind us of how important diversity and community involvement attributes to the project's success."



William Flemming, President of Skanska USA Building, construction manager for CUNY's Advanced Science Research Center said, "Skanska has a long history of working with the local contracting community to ensure that businesses of all sizes have the opportunity to work on our projects. There is approximately one quarter of the contract value that will be performed by minority and women owned businesses. And with the help of events like this, we expect not only to meet state M/WBE requirements, but we also expect to exceed them, as we have on many of our projects in New York."



Governor Cuomo issued an executive order establishing the M/WBE team, in order to explore ways to meet his goal of expanding M/WBE) participation in state contracting to 20 percent.

New York, NY--- On Tuesday, October 25th Johnson Edman Advertising executed and hosted a grand opening reception for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). The Ny-Manhattan Business Center (NYCMBC) is one of a nationwide network of over 40 centers designed to stimulate job creation and the growth of minority businesses. It is the third business center opened by NCRC, which also manages the Houston and Washington, DC centers.

NYCMBC utilizes strategic partnerships and diverse professional backgrounds to improve minority-owned companies’ performance and profitability. At Tuesday’s grand opening, the center celebrated partnerships with the New York City Department of Small Business Services, the Empire State Development Corporation and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The center’s growing client list includes some of the most recognized small minority and women owned firms in the NY/NJ region that operates across a range of industries including advertising, construction, information technology, energy, staffing and retail. The annual revenue of MBDA clients range from $1 million to more than $9 million annually.

“We’re pleased that we can bring to New York what we’ve been successful in providing minority entrepreneurs in Houston and Washington, D.C.: the tools they need to access capital and to sustain business growth,” said John Taylor, President and CEO of the NCRC. Suzette Bather Director of MBDA said that, “she is confident that the center will be of outstanding service to the New York business community.”
